Rouyn-Noranda 3NG

The design features the Fonderie Horne’s prominent dual chimneys ominously silhouetted across planet earth. Yellow smoke is pushed around by the wind, a reference to a somewhat recent cleaning that made the local news cycle. The orange tones on a black background impart urgency to the design.

The walk lasted into early evening, looping around most of the Noranda part of the city. It was planned by local community organizations, and almost cumulated 1000 people (in a 40 000 population town). There were a few stops along the way where demonstrations were held, notably in front of the Fonderie Horne as well as the city center, where Québec famous local signer-songwriter Richard Desjardins delivered a speech.
